Day 725

I'm continuing on in my journey of 1000 days of macro photography.

It took a slight detour in 2013 due to some health issues that arose.... yep..... the dreaded "c" word. With excellent care from specialists and surgeons and the nursing team I'm now all clear and ready to complete the last 275 days of my journey.

I thought I would shake it up a bit and try to write a description of why I choose the subject and what settings I used so that those who wish to improve their macro work can hopefully use the settings to help them. Please note: The settings are just a guide only. Be creative and don't just copy the work - put your own stamp on what you do. Be as original as you can.

Originally I was planning on taking 1000 photos of subjects using the macro lens continuously, but things popped up and that plan didn't eventuate - but you know what - doesn't matter. Getting to the end is what counts.

Ok - I choose the Lychee fruit as to me it screams summer! I like the colours, texture and taste and I wanted to focus on the end of the stem as the detail in it is amazing and it's the fruits life line to help it grow and be the best Lychee it can be!

Settings - I used my MP-E lens (love this lens!) and the aperture was 8.0, shutter speed 1/200 and I used my MT-24 flash at 1/64 strength.

Have fun and I hope that you enjoy the rest of the journey with me.
