Korean Crane with Waterbomb
The Korean traditional crane is, I recently learned, a little different. In the version we all learned as children, the preliminary fold is stretched on both sides and then the lower flaps are narrowed by bisecting the angles. In the Korean model, the middle corners are folded to the center. This yields a stockier model, but also hints at a divergence in the evolution of the model, some time in the distant past. That's kind of interesting, no?
Grafting the waterbomb onto this model is much easier and also, I hope, much more teachable.
