Shocked - Eyjafjallajökull Eruption

Eyjafjallajökull, Iceland

A week old shot of the volcano when it was till quite active. The scale of the eruption is now only a small percent of what it was at the start, causing little harm to the surrounding area.

I was shooting time laps when I captured this lightning strike. The lighting strikes where much more rare than at the start of the eruption and thus hard to capture. Shooting time laps increased the likelihood of capturing one greatly.

Lets hope this volcano comes to an rest shortly, if not then it should become a lava flowing volcano. That would be much more photogenic and friendly for the local population and air travelers.
