Erupting Aurora - Eyjafjallajökull Eruptioin

Eyjafjallajökull, Iceland

The disappointment with the reduced activity of the volcano was more than compensated when the Aurora showed up.

I saw some really nice aurora shots from the night before in the German magazine der spiegel:

I really should have gone the night before (Thursday) too, but I stayed home as I had to goto work the next day. The Aurora was much more intense that day and could be photographed in a rare south direction. Usually the Aurora is viewable to the north or overhead here in Iceland.

Well one of the images from this session got displayed at Daily Telegraph
