Morning Temple - Korat, Thailand
Back from three and a half week trip to Thailand.
Noonsung near Korat, Thailand
This image is from a unnamed temple in north east Thailand near NoonSung, Korat. Travelling in north east Thailand is very rewarding as it is the area in Thailand most unspoiled by modern development and you rarely see a tourist around. It doesn´t have all the stunning location like south Thailand but is much more original Thailand.
I spotted this location the day before when passing by. It is 20min drive from my wife's home and her brother offered to drive me there at 5:30am before sunrise the next day. He had some things to do after that so he left me there for almost two hours alone. I really enjoyed shooting there. The beautiful location, watching the local people doing their early morning routines, seeing the wildlife and experiencing the tranquillity of the place all added to a really nice experience.
The tree on the left is on a small island. Being sheltered from predators this tree host hundreds of Little Egrets (common bird in Thailand) which come to rest there during the night. Little Egrets are a part of the Heron family and feed on small fish, insects and small reptiles.
