Snow Covered Lava

Finally I am shooting some winter shot. I really need more of those for my photo shop here in Iceland. I was therefor very pleased when it finally started snowing here in south west Iceland.

These rough lava fields are tricky to hike in summer but can be dangerous in winter when the snow covers up all the small deep holes that are all over the place. Stepping on a pile of snow only to find out that there is a hole underneath with sharp lava rock is no fun.

I took this shot only a 20-30 meters from the road so I managed safely to navigate the lava field without any incident.
