Cross Paths II
Same spot as the shot below, different lens (1980s Minolta) and different camera (2012 Sony A99).
Always loved this combo and I missed it so much I resurrected both for a wood walk yesterday. Had to keep the camera running almost shot by shot, but eventually (and after a few restarts, wiggling of internal mirrors and lens mounts) we settled into a comfortable and enjoyable walk. I hate to think how many shutter actuations I’d got through on the camera before I retired it, but it’s like an old friend. The Minolta 50 only operates wide open at 1.7 (had it fixed a couple of times but over time the blades oil up) but I kinda like it that way. I think I’ll keep it out now I’ve a few workarounds and leave it at my dad’s house so it’s handy to take into the woods when I need it.
Just checked the shutter count on the A99 75,100
Scarily my A7 iii is already at 66,000
