1973 Yamaha TZ 350

Power: 65 bhp

Displacement: 347 cc

"The feature of the new TZ series was the adoption of water cooling. This gave a boost of power from 55 to 65 horsepower, but most important, it kept on giving maximum power throughout a race. The short fuse had been lengthened. To make a good showing at the Daytona 200, Yamaha sent their top rider, Finland's Jarno Saarinen, to ride the new bike. Tuned by Kel Carruthers, Saarinen rode this machine to victory at Daytona at his first attempt. The steeply angled clip-on handlebars were Jarno's trademark, a legacy from his ice racing days."
