A chapel with a view, Riedersteinkapelle, Bavarian Alps, Germany
On top of the Riederstein peak (measuring 150 metres, at a total of 1207 metres), in the Tegernsee area of the Bavarian Alps, is a majestically situated, small neo-gothic chapel, unsurpisingly known as the 'Riedersteinkapelle'. The path to the chapel is a 'Kreuzweg', a path depicting Jesus carrying the Cross and His crucifixion in 14 'Stations'.
Unnecessary to say that the view from the small platform in front of the chapel is stunning, and allows one to see the whole Tegernsee and Weissach valley, as well as many other Alpine peaks....
