Coimbra, university hill
A view on Coimbra, taken from the other side of the Mondego river. The belltower with the Portuguese flag flying on top belongs to the world-famous University of Coimbra (founded in 1290, so one of the oldest universities in the world!). The University is beautifully perched on this hill and literally dominates the old city. Academic Coimbra isn't called 'A cidade dos estudantes' (The city of students) for nothing..... (Best seen large, many small details!)
