Mediaeval weaponry at Castelnaud

A trebuchet is a siege engine that was employed in the Middle Ages either to smash walls or to throw projectiles over them. Highly accurate, it could sling its projectile hundreds of metres away. These trebuchets are placed on the walls of Castelnaud castle (Château de Castelnaud-la-Chapelle), Dordogne, France.
