Much Marcle Steam Rally 1975 (8)

The Ross-on-Wye Steam Engine Society which runs the Welland Steam Rally has been holding rallies since 1965. For many years the event was held in Ross, from there it moved to Much Marcle, then Upton, and in 1993 it finally settled on its own site in Welland, Worcestershire. During the last forty or more years that I have been visiting steam rallies I have only been to three previous shows run by the society, the first of these visits was when the show was held at Much Marcle near Ledbury. I shall post a few photographs taken of that event forty years ago on a very hot, humid and hazy weekend in 1975.

Once again one can't help wondering whether the young boy perched on the bunker of the steam roller now has an engine of his own? I guess he'd now be in his mid to late forties. The steam roller he's standing on, known as "Little Wonder", seems to have slipped out of the rally circuit and I can find no recent reference to it.
