As a person who is strongly attracted to Iceland and a citizen who live in a country China neighbour,
must advise you LOUD, NEVER LET CHINESE IN.
Do they believe that Mr. Huang REALLY buy 300k㎡ of tract for just an eco-tourism resort (this sounds incompatible for me enough) and golf course project?
That's deadly naïve.

*the things will likely happen in the future if Iceland let in anything Chinese*
LEVEL 1 (= all over the world):
Chinese goverment will buy the tract from Mr. Huang.
→ A few of legal Chinese workers will come (all of thier relatives will move in a few years later).
→ Snakehead will smuggle over ten times illegal workers.
→ and mafia too.
→ Chinese employee work hard at first.
Then found companies years later, and conquer the low price war in the Icelandic market by illegal workers and illegal factory.
then will kick out the Icelandic ex-bosses out of the market.
→ The local industry will be destroyed and the campanies lost out will sell out their traditional technique & skills, patents intellectual property rights etc. and Chinese state-owned companies will take over them.
→ Finally uprooted the all know-how to China mainland.
→ and money too (undeclared income, of corse).
→ the de-industrialization of Iceland
→ at the same time,
because Chinese are lack of respect for other countries & cultures and Chinalise places wherever they live,
(They have no habit of "When in Rome do as the Romans do" )
they will build China Towns which are totally mismatched to beautiful Icelandic landscape and ignore the local compliance & moral with uncivililised manners (i.e. scattering rubbish, spitting out phlegm on the street, trying to offer bribes to officers to escape purnishment when they kill somebody by running over etc).
→ will come into collision with Icelandic natives.
LEVEL 2 (= Europian & American smaller cities and Japan)
Mafia will bring drugs, prostitution, money laundering and buying and selling of human beings.
→ will violate peace in Iceland.
→ Chinese invistors will aim at geothermal generation & water resources, (China is too lack of water) and seek to buy more tract and property all over in Iceland. (if things won't work out, mafia will help them)
→ and also, aim at Icelandic fishery,
and try to poach and control fishing rights. (if things won't work out, ditto)
LEVEL 3 (= large cities in Europa, US, Canada & Australia)
Chinese developements will be completely destroy the breathtaking scenary and mysterous atmosphere. That will make visitors cry who loved good old Iceland. However only Chinese visitors will increase.
→ Chinese population(& illigals) will powerfuly increase and start to march demonstrations for the right to vote calling the natives rasists, then they will attack the main street in Reykjavík, destroy the shops & buldings.
→ They will got suffrage by power of number and vote people who will do what they want.
They will change the every rules and laws which are against Chinese benefit under the name of democracy. (if things won't work out, ditto)
→ send Chinese troops and establish military bases in Iceland against NATO.
From this stage, the environmental pollution will go worse.
LEVEL 4 (= countries around South China Sea , Taiwan & Japan)
→ Industrial wastes will pollute the North Atlantic Ocean, the Nordic Council will warn about it.
→ They will harass Norway about the North Sea oil and EEZ.
→ harass Greenland & Faroe Islands (Denmark) about the EEZ.
→ harass Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Russia, Canada & U.S. about EEZ in the Arctic Ocean.
→ The Nordic Council will deprive of Iceland's membership.
LEVEL 5 (Tibet, Xinjiang and rural China today )
→ Althing will be disestablished and the puppet government by China start.
→ controled geothermal powers and fishery industry by mafia
→ vulgar houses, buildings and factories everywhere, ruin tourism.
→ Dioxin,cadmium and caesium detected from cods, ruin fishery.
→ built nuclear power plants and & arms nuclear weapon factories. They will become major sources of income to the government.
→ Final landfill sites of radioactive waste will be established, ｆollowing mimicking Onkalo under Olkiluoto Island in Finland.
→ water of rivers will turn to be too colourful
→ Fjords will turn to be rainbow-colour melting
→ The Blue Lagoon will dry up, geysers will never explode again
→ Puffins become extinct (all eaten)

All citizens will be displaced from Iceland (Chinese first), because of the radioactive contamination which are worse than Three Mile Island and Fukushima and Chernobyl.
Iceland will be a "desert" island again after interval of 12 centuries.
