snowballs!
Chris and I want to wish all of you out in flickrland a joyous, safe, and happy new year!
2009 has been the year of many things good and bad.
For one, Chris and I got our first apartment togther and have successfully cohabitated in happy union without killing one another. Hooray!
Chris has been exploring new rhealms of the company he works for and designed a position very well suited for his expertice. This has given us a crazier schedule, but we are working through it.
I finished my 365 project this year, which was quite an undertaking but I learned a lot about myself and about technique. Aquiring a new lens for "Penny" has shown some pleasant results, and a new 52 weeks project is underway.
A trip to Chicago for my company's annual meeting this year presented the opportunity to visit some museums and see some fabulous art that we had never seen before. I was very happy for Chris that he finally got to see "Nighthawks" by Edward Hopper, and "American Gothic" by Grant Wood.
We threw our first party at our new place which was a success. It was very fun to uncork all sorts of bottles of wine with some of my dearest friends.
I lost some pounds and gained them all back :( Oh well there is always next year.
Last years resolution was partially fulfilled. I wanted to write three songs. Three songs have their beginning, but they are not finished.
I got a new ( to me) car. Unfortunately this was due to a car accident that totalled my Huckleberry. But Stella is becoming a good friend and I think we will be spending many happy years together.
As most of you know this is also the year of my tragic brush with violence- an event that will forever change me. As unfortunate as it is, I feel I can't leave it out of these annual events. The flickr community showed an outpouring of support and love throughout my rough patch, and I thank you sooooo much for that.
Of course that will only lead me to the joy that flickr has brought me this year. I've laughed, I've cried. You let me into your lives and I feel like I have become even closer to many of you throughout this year and I hope to know you and share with you even more in 2010.
So my resolutions for 2010 are
-Get used to writing and typing 2010
-Learn to embroider with the wonderful supplies my parents got me for Christmas.
-Get over my fear of infants. My brother and sister-in-law are having a baby girl in May and I want to be able to change a diaper if I need to without freaking out.
-Start a Moleskine journal with drawings and collages.
-Finish my 52 weeks project with minimal shots that look like they took two seconds to execute.
-Complete those three songs that i mentioned earlier.
-Learn guitar. With the help of Chris I hope to accomplish at least some of the basics. I don't think by any means I will be talented at it, but If I can make preconceived noise that sounds pretty, I'll be happy.
-Meet Holly!!!! And hopefully, if I'm lucky, more of you.
Cheers all!
