Krishna parundu, Brahminy kite, Haliastur indus

The Brahminy Kite (Haliastur indus) owes its name to the Hindu mythology, in which this bird is seen as the messenger of the god Brahma.

In Rameswaram he dives to the left-overs of the fishermen, catching with his claws. His wing span is 110 to 125 cm. In Tamil he is called Parundu.
