Our cat has a strange infatuation with one of my wife's pairs of shoes. I watched him do this for over five minutes once, before I got weirded out by it and ran him off (yes, he's neutered). He probably only stopped this time because he realized I was watching him. We're not sure what the deal is with these shoes--maybe the smell of the leather, as you see he sticks his face inside and inhales a few times--but he really doesn't do this with any of my shoes, nor any others of hers.
