Folded X

A variant of the X aerial, was popular in the UK for Band I TV, the folded elements change the impedance. The X was used when more gain was required than a dipole would provide as an alternative to the H-aerial. The greater mechanical strength of the X can be seen by the numbers that survive compared to the virtually extinct H.
