Indian Myna - Acridotheres tristis
The Common Myna (often spelled Mynah) - Acridotheres tristis - is also known as the Indian Mynah and is native to Asia. It is actually a member of the Starling family and, just like the European Starling, it will adapt to any surroundings and eat almost anything. It is such an invasive species that it has now been designated as one of only three birds in the top 100 worst invasive creatures in the world, the other two birds being the European Starling (no surprise there) and the Red-Vented Bulbul. This one was seen at the Pamplemousses (formerly S.S.R.) Botanical Gardens in Mauritius.
