Simply Orange

A genus of the Asteraceae family, the Cosmos Sulphureus is also known as Sulphur Cosmos, Mexican Aster (being native to Mexico) and Yellow Cosmos (although they can be found in many shades of colour from yellow through to red). I found this one attracting butterflies and insects as it grew wild among the grass and scrub by the side of a track near Bucerias, Mexico. I wanted to show the flower without visitors as it is so attractive and striking on its own. ( Apologies to Mick Hucknall for the title :-} ) Explore #163, 13 August 2015.
