I don't think I've ever seen so many chairs put out so far in advance of the parade. The prime sidewalk viewing spots were lined with empty chairs of all descriptions for days before this year's parade. Many were roped together in clusters like these, though most were small folding "camp chairs" instead of larger molded ones like these.
Technical note: the colors in this shot are as they appeared on the day, boosted only by the use of a polarizing filter. I did not apply any "selective color" in post processing.
