New Toys
It finally arrived! After waiting almost two months for a Silver OM-D E-M5 from Amazon, Amazon tacked another month and a half on to their shipping estimate. Fortunately a kind soul on the DPReview Micro Four Thirds forum mentioned that Mike's Camera in Boulder, CO had a few in stock, so I canceled the Amazon order and got it from Mike's instead.
Olympus can't keep up with the demand for these right now, and it seems like they're spreading them around instead of sending large quantities to big retailers like Amazon and B&H. The upshot is that your best shot right now seems to be to find a small, local camera store that doesn't have too many preorders.
After one day of using it, I'm infatuated. The image quality and ergonomics are top notch, and I love the retro look of the camera itself. Of course I managed to drop it almost immedately, but I think the scratches add character, don't you?
I can't wait to really start putting it through its paces!
