Autumn Chased by Winter

Remnants of fall color can still be seen under a thin layer of ice in a small pool of water near the cranberry bog in Carlisle, MA.

 

We're at that time of year when ice forms overnight but melts during the day. This little pool thawed slowly because it was in the shade.
