Snow. Really.

The little metal dog sculpture by our front step is buried in snow a couple of days after we got a light dusting.

Any snowfall at all is rare in October in these parts, but this turned out to be a whopper of a storm. We only had a couple of inches of wet, heavy snow, but it was enough to take down tree branches all over the region, knocking down thousands of power lines. Other cities and towns nearby got over two feet of snow.

We lost power early Sunday morning and aren't forecast to get it back until late Thursday night. Of course we're hoping it will be sooner.
