Cold Feet
Birds perch on large pieces of deep blue ice recently calved from Sawyer Glacier in Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska.
The bits of glacial ice formed all sorts of interesting shapes as they melted, and many were home to birds or seals.
Glacial ice is blue because almost all of the air was squeezed out as the glacier was formed and pure water absorbs red light, resulting in the blue tint (as I understand it).
