Lagoa do Fogo - the Fire Lake

In the middle of the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores, this lake looked different every time we saw it. This shot is taken from the road but the following day we hiked from the coast up to the shore of the lake. It was an exhausting climb and a difficult descent but worth every bit of effort.
