Hemenway Park - Boulder City
These are wild Desert Bighorn Sheep (Ovis canadensis nelsoni) that have found that the grass is much greener in this park than at their home in the mountains. Because they now frequent this park where they are around people they are getting tame and can be approached to within 10 feet. This group is all rams (males), note the big horns. They are an endangered species since 1999.
