This replica tower is one half of the size of the original but is made of modern materials and is assembled by welding rather than with rivets as is the original. The steel available when the original was built was far inferior to that available today. Welding was unavailable or not suited for such a project. Fake rivet heads and other touches are used to make it look like the original.
