Décollages

Papeterie. Posters and wallpapers, some with photographs, that have been lacerated, torn, partially damaged or destroyed and by this way have become artefacts with a new meaning...

My art has roots in DADA and Surrealism: Artist like Man Ray and Kurt Schwitters are a great inspiration for me.

I do not scratch them, I just find them in the streets and take the photograph. Some of them I use for photomontages, later.

The ripping and scratching was done by someone else already… and without my photography I do not know who would pay attention to those images or even look at them as pictures. They might be covered by a new poster or being removed totally in just the next moment.
