Gomoku Soba (china kitchen) at Roppongi 900 yen

During the latest 5 years, number of chinese and indian restraunts increases in Tokyo. And those restraunt owners also chinses or india in many cases. Especially, those chinese resutrant provides authentic style of chinese. Becasue of geographical reason, there are many chinese shops traditionaly in Tokyo. But menu of such chinese resutrant is arranged by Japanese sence, and tastes is also mixtures of Japanese and Chinese tastes. In some case, there are some recipe it does not exists in China. Gomoku soba (photo above) is also one of them.

 

I have visited Hong Kong and Taiwan for several times. But I have never seen gomoku soba (above) or similar menu. Above menu is lunch set menu; gomoku soba, small rice and small almond jelly.

Generally gomoku soba is more expensive than typical ramen, becasues seafood and vegitable is over noodle. ex) cuttlefish, prawn, dark edible mushroom, bok choy, dried cloud ear mushroom and other. Soup is a little slimy becasue of potato starch.Tastes is not bad. But price is expensive(price is 900 yen). I think fair value of gomoku soba is 600 - 700 yen (7-8 USD). Generaly rent of shop in Roppongi is expensive so that resutrant is also force to set higher price than other area of simillar restruant. Many restraunt located in such area make efforts to add value from other aspects of tastes and quality , like shop interior, using organic food, natural food as ingredients, adding sweats, adding small rice, , set price free of rice and miso soup, and etc. I think restraunt (china kitchen) fail to add value to typical gomoku soba. I suggest to set lower price for gomoku soba set at least 800 yen.

But this restraunt is gettting popularirty among employees working near offices. I do not know reasons. That is curious.
