DOT Art partnered with the Local Development Corporation of East New York and the East Brooklyn BID to present a sculptural installation by Brooklyn-based artist Julia Sinelnikova at the intersection of Fulton Street and Van Sinderen Avenue in Brooklyn. Titled, “Skywave,” the work paid homage to the spirit of the open sky and ocean waves to evoke feelings of tranquility at Broadway Junction’s bustling transportation hub. Fabricated locally in Brooklyn at Rufuge Arts and comprised of hand-welded steel and acrylic, the sculpture created a dynamic and unique light pattern on the sidewalk based on the sun's movement, changing over the course of a day.
