Forged Worlds

DOT Art in partnership with United Photo Industries (UPI) present “Forged Worlds,” a 370 foot vinyl fence wrap located under the Manhattan Bridge at Adams Street, Plymouth Street and Anchorage Place in DUMBO, Brooklyn. DOT Art considers the site to be a rotating art site and has continued to program the location with UPI over the past few years. Comprised of six sets of photographs, one from each artist or artist team, the groupings represent alternate worlds created in response to a question or a-typical scenarios. Bill Fingers’ set, “Ground Control” addresses the question, “If you had the chance to go on a one-way trip to Mars, would you go?” Another artist, Justin Bettman, presents photographs of interior spaces created from unwanted or discarded materials and furniture. Other artists in the exhibit include: Julia Fullerton Batten, Barbara Ciurej & Lindsay Lochman, Jie Ling He and Lori Nix.
