Read more about Snowdonia on the blog.

The long haul from Devonshire to the hills of north Wales and Snowdonia National Park is fairly intense at night. We drove through eerily Alpine roads that echoed the mood of Yosemite and the Scottish Highlands. I had the car to myself the following day, so after exploring Snowdonia I headed for Holyhead Island and the idyllic South Stack Lighthouse.

The first visit was fairly successful, but most of the day it just rained. After passing the afternoon in a coffeeshop near Caernarfon, I ended up at the lighthouse a second time and watched a heavy fog roll in and out with almost magical rapidity.
