Lime Point 2009_2
Another one from the archives, this was one of the first images I captured when my Nikon 70-200mm VR lens was delivered some two-and-a-half years ago. The new lens was sharp and focus was fast and dead on, but I missed the reach of my old 70-300mm VR lens. Nikon's TC17E-II teleconverter (extender) allowed the new lens to go up to 340mm or 510mm effective with the 1.5x crop factor of my D90 body.
This image of Lime Point lightstation under the Golden Gate bridge was shot hand held from Fort Baker at the maximum 340mm (DX effective focal length of 510mm). Straight out of the camera, I processed the image in Silver Effects Pro and resized for Flickr. Hope you like it and thanks for all the views, comments and faves.
