N.bicalcarata

The fanged pitcher plant is by far one of the coolest of the Nepenthes genus. This species is one of the largest growing Nepenthes plants and grows in the lowland forests of Borneo. The 'Fangs' of this species are large nectary glands which attract invertebrates and supports a mutualistic relaationship with an ant species (Camponotus schmitzi) which utilises the hollow in the twist of the pitchers stem for refuge.
