CONCEPT: DC's Outsiders (CW)

Here's something a little different!

With Black Lightning in the midst of its final season (reportedly due to a rise in filming costs in its Georgia home) I've been left thinking about the characters we're leaving behind, and what could be done with them. We've introduced a hell of a lot of Outsiders for them to have yet to exist, so here's my pitch:

After the (currently unknown) events of the Black Lightning finale, Anyssa Pierce and Grace Choi are ready to move on from Freeland and find a community of their own that could use their help. What was intended to be a duo quickly becomes a team, as three freshly-graduated teenagers and an ex-agent of a corrupt government agency are also eager to make a difference. As Thunder and Grace find themselves unexpectedly training a team of new heroes, they also find themselves in the company of a now-veteran crime-fighter Roy Harper, aka Arsenal.

Let's meet the team:

Thunder - aka Anyssa Pierce. Team leader that could pick a fight with a semitruck and win.

Wylde - aka Grace Choi. A shapeshifter still battling her own insecurities.

Geo-Force - aka Brandon Marshall. A passionate geokinetic looking for answers about his past.

Technocrat - aka Baron Geoffrey. The technopathic 90s-kid-out-of-time.

Freight Train - aka Erica Moran. Her kinetic absorption powers make her as dangerous as she is asocial.

Atomic Knight - aka Sgt. Gardner Grayle. An expert marksman in shining experimental armor, looking to make up for his time with the ASA.

Arsenal - aka Roy Harper. Ex-sidekick to the Green Arrow, once again drawn back in to the life of a vigilante.

Hey, so uh...I know I kinda promised to post more, and that um...didn't...happen. Here's the thing.

This past year has been pretty rough, and I'm no exception to that. Like I said a few months ago, I've been completely unemployed since this time last year, and attempts to solve that problem have been pretty fruitless. My depression has been creeping back in and my best method against it is to follow what's got me excited, and right now that's my Power Rangers RPG. I've been working on it since last summer and it's almost ready to play, but it's basically a full-time job that, again, is making me no money 😅

The lack of significant income means new pieces are kind of a no-go aside from the occasional whole set, which makes it pretty hard to do whole projects for you guys. Not only that, I've made kind of a ton of figures?? Currently there's over 200 custom DC heroes in my collection, and those are just the few I've kept in one piece. There's not a lot of characters that I haven't either done or tried by now, which makes it kind of a time-sink to explore them. Plus, a lot of the shows and movies - which usually inspire what I do next - have been tapping a lot of the same concepts and characters rather than busting out many new ones.

That being said, I do have a little stockpile of figures that are ready to go! The problem *there* is that my upload format takes a while to type up, and I basically have to clear a whole night just to do an upload. With this Rangers project taking up so much of my time, I just simply can't bring myself to summarize over a dozen ComicVine entries right now - and I'm not about to break my format. SO please be patient with me! It's likely still gonna be awhile before I get a new batch up, but hopefully it'll be worth it when I do!

I will promise, though, that a new batch of Arrowverse Multiverse minifigs will be gracing your feeds at least before the end of the last Arrowverse show's season this year! Ideally, it'll be in time for the triumphant return of John Diggle and his lovely new jewelry!

Once again, thank you all so much for your support and your patience! Stay safe out there, wear a mask, get vaccinated if and when you can, and do what you can to save the world - even if it's just the little chunk you're standing on!
