Through The Grapevine
As the sun tucked away the last rays of light,
a foolish heart won the internal fight,
and pushed out in the dusk her love to seek,
a move she was told is meek,
unacceptable for a lady of her rank,
a scandal that could have a reputation tank.
But what good is the world where love is crime,
would such life be worth but a dime?
Soothing words calmed the shivering heart,
And eased the worries caused by Cupid’s dart.
When his arm wrapped around her tight,
The night instantly filled with a promise of a sweet delight.
