Afghan civil engineer instructor, Mr. Fardin, teaches a building and structures class during a civil engineer course on Kandahar Air Wing, Afghanistan, as Army 1st Lt. Afghan civilians and service members are receiving specialized training in skills such as welding, electrical wiring, and carpentry in order to maintain buildings that were recently transitioned to the wing. Seven civilians and 11 service members are taking the eight-month course. They will be the first engineers of Kandahar Air Wing's civil engineer squadron.
