Express Trailers, Malta: Ford Trancontinental Tractor Unit (fiction)
Express Trailers of Luqa, Malta operated a number of Ford Transcontinentals, which could sometimes be seen in the UK on long, over-land runs from Malta. I don't have specific details so this fictional image is presented as a generic representation. Thanks to Graham Newell for the base image. Here is an (edited) extract from the company's website:
"Emmanuel Vella began trading as a transportation and logistics broker in 1945 and acquired his first truck in 1960. Express Trailers Limited was set up in 1978 to maximise the opportunities offered by the roll-on roll-off (Ro-Ro) service that had just been introduced in Malta. It became Malta’s primary international trailer operator, equipped with a large, state-of-the-art fleet. Further specialist operations were later established by the Emmanuel Vella Group to handle a diverse range of international transportation needs. The Vella family continues to play an active role in the group’s operations as the leading transport and logistics company in Malta" (16-Jul-16).
