Gibson Beach is 1.1km from the 12 Apostles, and the Gibson Steps are a steep 86 steps down from the Great Ocean Road to the beach.

 

The rocky stacks near this beach are called the 12 apostles because they stand tall along the shore. Despite the name the 12 apostles, there are only 8 left standing as nature, time and the salty ocean waters have caused several of the apostles to erode and fall.

 

This photograph was taken during an aerial scenic tour of the 12 apostles as a part of a day trip on the The Great Ocean Road in South West Australia in October 2016.
