Sutro Tower was something that I had no idea existed until I came to SF. For me, even moreso than the Golden Gate Bridge, the Transamerica Pyramid, or Alcatraz, this and the hills it rests in are the iconic structures that I now think of when I think of the San Francisco skyline.

I pass this oft-photographed park everyday on my way to work. It's a beautiful spot that lets you see many parts of the city, from downtown, Western Addition, to Pac Heights.
It's cliche, but when out-of-towners ask me where I live in the City, I always respond, "near the Painted Ladies, where the Full House intro was filmed".

Flickr is a huge part of my life here in San Francisco. Most of my friends and people I know in the city work (or worked) here and it's a bedrock in many ways. I love working on the best website in the world and all the people that surround it and the amount of care that goes into it.

Ocean Beach via bike is my go-to escape on the weekends. I can go from having my shoes off in my apartment to standing at the edge of the foggy, cold beach in about 30 minutes. Getting here also takes me through the Golden Gate Park, which is one of the more beautiful and definitely interesting urban parks in the country.
Nolan Caudill says:
I consider MUNI as what turned me into a city person and where I proved to myself that I could make it in a true urban setting. It was here where I was forced to confront all the edges and pieces of the city, from the normal daily grinders to the crazy people yelling at no one in particular to everyone in between. It was also my Conestoga wagon in the first months of the city, letting me explore the corners of my new home.

This spot from Meghan and mine's back porch is my little sanctuary. This is my quite little spot of solitude where I get to sit slightly removed from the hustle but still firmly in the middle of it.
Yes, this is another picture of Sutro Tower, but Sutro Tower comes up that much in my day-to-day it deserves another slot.

Biking has become a big part of my life. Not in the tattoo on my calf or "Infinite Gas Mileage" t-shirt way, but in the sense that it completely opens the city up to me in ways the bus system and walking can't. I also can't think of very few more "city" things than weaving a bike down a major urban thoroughfare, and the fact I enjoy it is another hint that I can make it here.
Nolan Caudill says:
Fog is pervasive on the western side of the city. I live in that sweet spot where I can look east and see sun and look west and see a wall of fog that coats the Sunset. My first visit to Ocean Beach, in the middle of the summer no less, was damp, cold, and some of the thickest fog I've seen.
Nolan Caudill says:
The views in San Francisco never cease to jump out and surprise me. You'll be riding through a neighborhood, crest a hill, and then, BAM, you're looking at a view that could literally be on a postcard.
Sometimes I feel like the buildings are leaning over top of me, and the tops of these hills with their views of the Pacific, of the Golden Gate Bridge, of Marin seem to lift the lid right off the top of the city.
Nothing here yet.
