The empty flasks
As a counterbalance to a previous offering here we see Class 68 locomotives Nos. 68002 Intrepid and 68004 Rapid speeding away from Chelvey Bridge in North Somerset with 6Z74, the 05:25 Crewe Coal Sidings (Drs) to Bridgwater F.D empty flask working on Thursday 14th May 2020.
The flasks in question are on their way to Hinkley Point power station in Somerset, where they will be loaded with spent nuclear fuel rods before returning to the reprocessing facility at Sellafield in Cumbria.
This working, which at the time of this photograph was running twice a week, has run infrequently since early June, if at all. But now, strangely enough, it has suddenly appeared again this very day.
