Rolling into Reading
Class 50 locomotive No. 50002 Superb arrives at Reading with the 14:30 Paddington - Paignton service on Saturday 23rd September 1978. I boarded the train here and took it as far as Newton Abbot, including a stop at Frome. Although I can't remember much about it now, I expect it was a very pleasant Saturday afternoon's run across the "desert" behind a "50".
I believe the large building visible on the right has since been demolished and the site redeveloped.
