Trans-Pennine Express, nineteen-seventies style

A Swindon-built Class 124 "Trans-Pennine" diesel multiple unit stands at Leeds ("City" as it still was then) station on Saturday 3rd April 1976. These distinctive units with their wrap-around windows were relatively luxurious, originally including a buffet car in their formation, and they worked inter-city services for many years across northern England between the Mersey and the Humber.
