Prato - Piazza del Duomo - Fontana del Pescatorello - 1861 - Mariano Falcini

The city of Prato boasts important historical and artistic attractions, with a cultural span that started with the Etruscans and then expanded in the Middle Ages and reached its peak with the Renaissance, when artists such as Donatello, Filippo Lippi and Botticelli left their testimonies in the city.

The Pescatorello fountain is made of marble with marine animals dominated by the sculpture of a young fisherman, designed by Mariano Falcini and sculpted by Emanuele Caroni and Ulisse Cambi. On an octagonal base there is a large circular basin with two swans on either side.

The people of Prato also nicknamed it the Duck fountain for the swans carved on the edge of the pools.
