Palacio Real - VELAZQUEZ - 1634 - La túnica de José

From Tuesday June 7 is open to the public the exhibition "From Caravaggio to Bernini. Masterpieces of Italian Seicento in Royal Collections" organized by National Heritage sponsored by the Banco Santander Foundation, and D. Gonzalo Redín as Commissioner , which will be open until October 16, 2016 in the temporary exhibition rooms of the Royal Palace of Madrid.

 

The exhibition brings together an important collection of paintings and sculptures from the seventeenth century Italian, all belonging to the National Heritage. They are seventy-one works by artists such as Caravaggio himself, Guido Reni, Giovanni Francesco Barbieri, known as Il Guercino, Luca Giordano, Andrea Vaccaro, Federico Barocci, Ercole Procaccini Charles Le Brun, Ludovico Carracci, Carlo Maratti and Jose Ribera; also you can see sculptures by Bernini, Algardi, Duquesnoy and Fisher von Erlach. It will also be a unique opportunity to admire "The Tunic of Joseph" by Velazquez, made after the first trip to Italy painter.
