Misty Summer Sunrise

A patchy, low-lying mist helped create the warm, subtle lighting throughout this image. Coupled with a sky full of high clouds, the conditions allowed shooting directly into the rising sun without excessive shadows and burnt out highlights.

 

I retained a more realistic feel rather than try to pull out too much foreground detail, as the charm of this image seemed to rely on the balance of colour, shape, light and dark, rather than texture and detail - especially as there was plenty of both in the clouds.
