First view of Lansdowne as you drive up from Kotdwar

Kalu Danda is the old name of Lansdowne before it was taken over by the British in 1887 as the home of the Garhwal Rifles. The old Kaleshwar Temple is dilapitated and still exists in the center of the town market.
