Manrique spiral
This is in the Mirador del Rio visitor centre on the northern coast of Lanzarote. It was designed by the artist and architect Cesar Manrique and completed in 1974. All his work is in tune with the volcanic environment and his influence is reflected throughout the island - thanks to him there are no high rise buildings and no advertisement hoardings. It makes such a difference.
