Coronavirus Wuhan Flu Supplement
According to an article in the Lancet
the morbidity of the new 2019 coronavirus, 2019nCoV, is, as was the case with SARS, associated with the immune response. The novel virus causes over expression of T cells, and possibly a cytokine storm or basically, too much of an immune reaction, and too much inflammation, which can kill people.
Turmeric (Ukon ウコン) is argued to be a natural antiinflammatory, and drinks containing turmeric such as that above are a common supplement available in convenience stores in Japan. They are usually imbibed to counter the inflammation caused by excessive drinking; to prevent or cure hangovers.
I originally thought that the Wuhan coronavirus was a snake mutation of bat flu, but it is now argued that it is bat flu that has been deliberately (!) genetically modified by the insertion of Human Immunodeficiency Virus genes, which make humans susceptible to it. The researchers write "The finding of 4 unique inserts in the 2019-nCoV, all of which have identity /similarity to amino acid residues in key structural proteins of HIV-1 is unlikely to be fortuitous in nature. "
This may also mean that traditional Chinese medicine used to treat HIV may also have some benefits to coronavirus suffers.
But then there are those that claim the batman flu study is crap.

A Thai Doctor has used HIV (lopinavir and ritonavir) and Flu medicine (Tamiflu/Oseltamivir).
