RNA Flowcell

The RNA Molecular Biology Group within the NIAMS Laboratory of Muscle Stem Cells and Gene Regulation studies the role of RNA dysregulation and mutations in disease. Such mutations have been linked to diseases like myotonic dystrophy. In research studies, RNA is converted into complementary DNA (cDNA), which is loaded onto a flow cell like the one in this image. The flow cell is analyzed in a high-throughput sequencing machine. Markus Hafner, Ph.D., is the leader of this research group.
